My whole career I have been with Desco FCU. I can’t imagine being anywhere else. Our organization is a family that works together to provide the services and products that our members want. I can remember working on my very first mortgage loan; talking about SCARY! Purchasing a home is one of the biggest events in someone’s life and I wanted to make it as stress free as possible. My heart would race every morning I would open my email to get an update on how things were progressing. Luckily, I survived the first one; it actually went really well. Since then, I have become seasoned and know what the next move is going to be. I love working with first time buyers that look to me for advice. I have been in their shoes and it can be an intimidating process but I work to make it as easy as it can be. I look forward to each person that approaches me with a challenge he/she is facing.

Even to this day, I will have people ask me “How did Desco Federal Credit Union get its name?” It is somewhat of an unique name however, the credit union started off as being solely an organization used by the employees of Detroit Steel Corporation. After the closing of Detroit Steel, the credit union was able to become a community based credit union to serve all people that work or live in the area. We started out with $50 in a cash drawer, if you needed a loan of more than a few hundred dollars; those funds had to be ordered. Now, Desco is a seven location credit union that offers anything from a hundred dollar loan to a mortgage loan to a large commercial/business loan. We see the need to offer a hometown, personal service financial institution to cover all your needs.
